5th February 2026 | Issue 295

Tuesday 10th February 2026 is Safer Internet Day.

Safe and appropriate use of the internet is taught every time our pupils use a computer and through PHSCE lessons. Throughout the school next week, children will be learning about internet safety in age-appropriate ways, with each class taking part in different activities ranging from watching BBC Newsround (and discussing the information as a class), taking part in a quiz or making posters to promote being safe online. One class has particularly focused on learning about how people are scammed online and how we can take steps to ensure it does not happen to us!

Please see below some useful information and links for parents regarding internet safety.

Mental Health Support Team

After half term, Cat Hughes and her colleagues from the Schools’ Mental Health Support Team (part of Oxfordshire NHS) will be putting on two workshops, one for our Year 6 pupils on the theme of transition, and one for parents and carers. If you would like to join us on Friday 6th March, for the parents and carers workshop on supporting children, please email the office by midday on Thursday 5th March to book a place. All our parents and carers are welcome, whatever age your child is.

World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March

We will be promoting our love of reading and celebrating the wonderful impact that books can have on lives. The PTA will be hosting their annual fantastically successful and enjoyable pre-loved book sale in the from garden from 3.15pm on Thursday 5th March. Please give any books that you wish to donate, directly to the PTA. There will be an exhibition in the hall of the children’s entries in the World Book Day Puppets Competition.

Updates & Reminders

Parking - Concerns have been raised with the school about where parents are leaving their cars when dropping off. Please do not abandon vehicles on the pavement outside the Parish Hall when dropping off, including for Breakfast Club. The entrance to the drive is narrow, so a car left in this area can cause other vehicles to have to reverse back onto the main road, which is very dangerous.

Reminder to Parents - Please ensure that packed lunches contain food which is cut appropriately we have seen an increase in grapes and olives in lunch boxes which have not been cut which causes a choking hazard. We have also started to see other foods including mini eggs in lunch boxes which again are known to be a serious choking hazard. Please see below some information regarding the risk of choking.

It’s the PTA Disco this coming Saturday (7th February) at the Sports and Social club.

If you haven't already got your tickets then you can still order them online until tomorrow night (click on the link below), and we'll also have a limited number available on the evening.

Disco tickets

We look forward to seeing you all there. DJ Pulsation Roadshow will be providing the Disco fun and we'll be holding a raffle on the evening with some great prizes for you to win including a Family Annual pass for Blenheim Palace and bowling tickets at the Heyford!

NB: We are going paperless with tickets this year so don't panic when no tickets arrive in the book bags!

Do you have any preloved cuddly toys, books or clothes to pass on?

We're collecting cuddly toys for a teddy tombola at the Easter Egg hunt and books for the World Book Day book sale. If you have any preloved cuddlies or children's books, then please pass them on to the committee.

The next Rags 2 Riches preloved clothing Collection is on Wednesday 25th February. Donating your unwanted clothes to Rags 2 Riches not only helps raise money for the school but also helps to provide affordable clothing for people in the Ukraine.
