Message from Ms Walker
It has been another positive week at Launton, and it was lovely to see so many parents and carers attending parents’ evenings. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us and for the positive feedback we have received about the new organisation of these meetings. We are pleased that the changes have been well received and will continue with this approach moving forward. Today, the children looked wonderful in their non-school uniform as we raised money for Sobell House Hospice. Thank you for your support with this important cause. It was also lovely to see the children enjoying the opportunity to express their individuality and show their own personalities through their choice of clothing!

Arriving at school
Please aim to arrive five minutes before your child’s allocated time and enter through the front gate, where parents and carers will be signed in before going into school.
We appreciate that some parents and carers may not be able to attend during their child’s allocated time. If this is the case, please don’t worry! The hall will be open at the end of the school day for you to come in with your child and enjoy looking at their work together.
We look forward to welcoming you into school and sharing the children’s learning with you!
Harvest Festival
A little reminder that our Harvest Festival will take place at the church next Friday, 23rd October, at 9.30am. We are collecting donations for Bicester Foodbank to support those in need within our local community. If you are able to donate, please could children bring their items into school on Friday morning. The list of particularly needed items was included in last week’s newsletter. Thank you, as always, for your kindness and generosity in helping us make a difference to others in our community.
Reception-Moving onto Primary School Survey
Oxfordshire County Council would like to hear about your child’s move to primary school.
If your child has started in Reception this September, please take a few minutes to complete the short Moving onto Primary School – parent/carer questionnaire. https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/moving-onto-primary-school-parent-carer-questionnaire
Your feedback will help the Council understand what is working well and what could be improved to make the transition into primary school easier for all children.
Your responses will be anonymous, and the findings will be used to help nurseries, preschools, childminders and schools improve transition guidance and support children to settle into primary school smoothly and confidently.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views.
Parking Reminder -
A gentle reminder to all parents and carers dropping off or collecting children at any time of day, arriving late and picking up for appointments: Please do not stop by the gates to drop children off this causes problems with the flow of the traffic and puts the children and other pedestrians at risk, please ensure that you park beyond the Parish Hall, using the designated parking spaces. This helps to keep the area immediately around the school clear and ensures the safety of our children and other pedestrians, as well as other drivers. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us to keep our school community safe.
Attendance
Congratulations to all classes for achieving over 97% attendance this week. Again a huge well done to Rowan Class for achieving 100% attendance for the second week in a row!
