Growing in learning, growing in character, growing community.

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Carers

Fresh Direct kindly donated seven crates of delicious peaches this week and the DfE sent four mornings of tests. The entire school enjoyed the peaches and the year six children devoured the tests: excellent. We continued the theme of celebrating achievement in this week's Achievement Assembly, in which Mrs Wakelin (Chair of Governors) presented the awards instead of class teachers doing so. All the awards this week were for making excellent progress in maths, and for representing the school values.

Sports day will be held on 11 July: Willow Class, Chestnut Class and Oak Class in the morning, and Ash Class, Rowan Class and Beech Class in the afternoon. We have decided to organise it in two parts again as the experience was much better for the children this way.

In support of the Parish Poppy Fete, entry forms and details of the fete are attached. The children will have the opportunity to make their entries for the craft competitions in school. Art work for the fete has already been sent to the fete organisers and the children have been hugely complimented on the quality of their entries and Rob Cornford is on standby with his camera to photograph them.

Have a lovely weekend,

Best wishes

Jane Paterson and the staff team

May Half Term at Studi02 with OYAP Trust

Get stuck in and learn to make a mini-festival with music, graffiti, zine-making, garden activities and kites. Take part in a traditional Ceilidh dance.

Over the course of 2017, OYAP Trust consulted with young people across Bicester about what cultural activity they wanted to see taking place in their town. They wanted five simple things; more opportunities to take part in high quality art and cultural activities, a space to run these creatives activities, performances and exhibition out of, more events they are to attend as young people, more opportunity to access green spaces in the town and lastly affordable activities that everyone can take part in.

In response the manifesto, OYAP Trust has invited Tandem Collective (a not-for-profit organisation that engages and empowers new audiences to tackle environmental and social issues through music and the arts) to work in partnership to plan a Tandem Takeover event at Studi02 for the half term. The festival inspired event will provide fun, high quality and eco-friendly creative arts, gardening and music activities for all ages.

We hope you find an activity you enjoy!
