Absence from School.

If your child is away from school for any reason, we require a phone call to the school office advising us of this with the reason for absence. If your child has been off due to illness please ensure that they are not returning too soon and risking passing illness to other children and staff. Guidance on length of time a child needs to be off for a certain condition can be found in the link below. Please note that Public Health England has revised its guidance to state that a child should not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

We are unable to authorise holidays in term time, unless in exceptional circumstances.

Administering Medicine in School.

If your child needs to take medicine during the school day, we are happy to do this, following the school's medicine protocol. Please go to the office and complete the 'agreement to administer medicine form'. The medicine should be given to the School office when completing the form (The medicine needs to be labelled with your child's name and in the original container).

Medical Needs

We make detailed individual plans to support children with medical needs in school. If your child develops a condition about which you have not yet advised us (for example, the need for an asthma inhaler), please speak to either your child's class teacher in the first instance, or Mrs Paterson.
