Growing in learning, growing in character, growing community.

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Carers

Thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey online or in paper form. The volume of responses and engagement levels are already unprecedented. The survey closes tomorrow at 3.15 all responses are welcomed as your views are invaluable. Many thanks for your continued support.

Children have been out and about in the village and around school this week, taking advantage of the super weather to complete their own surveys of traffic, maps, nature hunts and art work hunts... and it has been very encouraging to hear so many of them talking about the importance of wearing their hats.

Have a lovely weekend,

Best wishes

Jane Paterson and the staff team

Oak Class message from Miss Nightingale

Please remember to bring a coat as there will be days over the next week or so when we will be out and about in the village as part of our topic work and we need to be warm and dry.

Chestnut Class and Year 5 Willow Class message from Mrs Cuttell

We are undertaking a unit about sound. As part of this unit we will be making and designing our own instruments.

Could the children bring in a handful of beans, rice, pasta, lentils or similar for Monday 23rd April.

Whilst throwing out/recycling over the next few weeks could you keep bottle tops/plastic containers/cardboard boxes/jam jar lids and anything your child thinks maybe useful for constructing their instrument. Please bring to school the week beginning 14th May.

Message from Friends of Launton School

Thank you to everyone who attended the Friends fundraising brainstorming meetings. We have had some brilliant new fundraising ideas that Mark will be discussing with Mrs Patterson. We will soon update you with more dates and events for your diary.

Thank you again for supporting Lolly Friday where we sold 123 lollies! Lollies will be available for sale this Friday; in the playground if the weather is good, or in the school hall if it rains.

Thank you & kind regards,

Ruth

Your school needs you!

At this year's fete Launton Primary School will be helping to run games and activities for the children. To do this, we need parent volunteers on the day, so if you are coming along and can give even just 30 minutes of your time, it would be much appreciated.

We will be running the following activities:

Face Painting - volunteers needed!

Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar

Clothes Peg Game

Splat the Rat

Temporary Tattoos

Children's Tombola - donations of child-appropriate prizes (this can include chocolate) would be gratefully received. Donations can be left in the boxes outside school house.

If you would like to volunteer some time on the day to help, or if you are a talented face painter, then we need to hear from you. Please send an email to Kate Greig at vicechair@friendsoflaunton.co.uk

Thank you.

Please find below links to this week's letters and some updates and reminders. All of these letters are on the school website under recent letters.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Staker
