Rowan Class Term 5

In Art, we will be learning about Art from other cultures and we will explore this through printing and painting.

Geography learning will focus on maps, directions and studying our school grounds.

In History, we will learn about the significant explorers- Christopher Columbus, Neil Armstrong and Emelia Earhart. 

In Maths we will begin to learn about multiplication and division. 

In English this term we will use the texts ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ to inspire our sentence writing. We will use these, and other texts, to continue our work on grammar, spelling and punctuation.

In DT this term we will be designing, constructing and evaluating a freestanding structure (enclosure for an animal).

In Science pupils will be learning about plants and how they grow from seeds and bulbs.

P.E is on Mondays and Thursdays. Net and Wall Games and Dance are our units this term. 

In Computing children will develop their understanding of the various aspects of using a computer to create and manipulate text. They will become more familiar with using a keyboard and mouse to enter and remove text.

In Religious Education our ‘Big Question’ is: How and why is Shabbat important to Jewish people?

In PSHE our unit is ‘Being My Best’, which focuses on healthy eating and helping children to understand what being healthy inside and out may look like.
