Attendance

We aim to create an environment that encourages and supports every member of our school community to strive for excellence. For children to gain the greatest benefit from their education, regular attendance is essential. We ask that your child attends school every day the school is open and arrives on time, unless there is an unavoidable reason for absence.

There is a strong link between regular school attendance and pupils’ achievement. School staff, Governors, and the local authority all believe that consistent attendance helps children to thrive both academically and socially. By attending school regularly, pupils are given the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential.

Absence from School

The Department for Education (DfE) expects children to attend school every day. Frequent intermittent absence has a significant negative effect on children: it disrupts their friendships and interrupts their learning.

You can find more information about school attendance in our Attendance policy here.
