Teddy's Hollow

On the final day of the spring term, in accordance with the wishes of Teddy’s family, Teddy’s Hollow was installed in Ash Garden, using money donated in memory of Teddy and a contribution from school. It will contain a commemorative plaque: see picture. It sits behind the apple tree, now in full of blossom, that Teddy’s classmates planted last summer in memory of him.

Easter Service and Egg Hunt

Thank you to the traffic marshals who helped the children to cross the road when we walked to St Mary’s Church for the Easter Service. Well done to pupils in Beech Class and Chestnut Class who planned the service and spoke so well in church.

The spring term ended with a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt, in which we were joined by families from school and families from the village not yet at school and pupils past, present and future. Thank you to the brilliant team who organised the many elements of this event. A phenomenal £1,131.72 was raised towards replacing children’s laptops. The PTA would like to thank everyone who has contributed to an enormously enjoyable and hugely successful Easter Egg Hunt.

Plant Sale

On the 29th April Year 4 are hosting a plant sale. There will be cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkins, and many more. The plant sale will start at 3pm. They will each cost £1. The money will go to charity. Beech class have worked for weeks planting all sorts of seeds and taking cuttings. Finally our plants are ready for new homes.

School Football Team

Once again the Launton children demonstrated their strength of character, this time during a particularly trying football match. Their sporting behaviour, forbearance and good manners shone out yesterday afternoon, as a very good example for others to see, making their loss of the match inconsequential. The football squad has played 6 matches, drawing 1, losing 2 and winning 3 and being described by other schools as ‘a joy to referee’.
